It's lovely to see Joshua and Sam sharing an interest - even if I am fairly certain Samuel doesn't understand more than half of what is going on without the words, and even reading the words Joshua doesn't get every joke.
(These photos were actually taken back in July, I think. It is a long time since I've blogged.)

Why don't I know about Asterix? Your boys are so cute.
They've been around for a looong time. Joshua is borrowing some from the collection of one of the men at church, and he has borrowed a heap from the school library as well.
The comics tell the story of Asterix and his best friend Obelix, two Gauls whose village is surviving in the time of Rome's rule because their village druid Getafix can make a magic brew to give them superhuman strength in battle. There's also Cacofonix, the bard, and Vitalstatistix, the chief of the tribe. Absolutely right on the knocker to catch the attention of my boys! Did I mention they don't get all the puns? Just the way I like it at the moment!
The stories were written by Rene Goscinny and are illustrated by Albert Underzo.
